Kenner's Universe

Five years ago is when this all began. Brian and I were married on May 3, 2003 in the Denver LDS Temple. We have lived in Colorado, Idaho, and we are currently in Utah. Brian enjoys his job as Dr. Death (Funeral Director) and I enjoy being a full time mom. Our first born son, Kenner, is 2 1/2 and Kameron just joined our family on February 21, 2008. Our love for each other, our children, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ make us keep going every day.

Big Brother Meets Baby Brother

Mommy and Daddy tried to prepare Kenner for his baby brother by talking to him about what will happen and when it will happen. Kenner was very excited to go to the hospital to get his new brother that just about every other day he would get his shoes on and go to the front door and wait for me. I would ask him where he was going and his response was that he was going to the hospital. After explaining to him that it's not time yet he would be ready to go the next day. Needless to say when the time came and Grandma Lund brought Kenner with his new Thomas the Train back pack to the hospital he was exstatic. Mommy was induced in the morning and baby brother took a little long to get here than we thought and since Kenner didn't get a nap, we decided that Grandma should take him home for bed with the sitter so Grandma could come back to the hospital. Right before she was putting him down for bed the Doctor said it was time to get this baby here so we called and they headed up to the hospital again. Baby brother had to go straight to the nursery due to complications so Kenner didn't get to hold him in the hospital, but the first time he saw his little brother from the window he beemed. He definitely loved holding him when he was home.

Christmas

I know it's not Christmas now, in fact, you're right, it was three months ago, but I have to share with you some of the memories.

I thought I had the perfect gift thought of for Kenner. A play kitchen. Kenner absolutely loves to pretend to cook. Pretending to cook keeps him busy for quite a while and then he wouldn't have to use my pots and pans. It was perfect. Well, no. Daddy refused to let his son have what he thought was a gift for a girl. He won and convinced Kenner to ask for a basketball hoop. Kenner was quite pleased with his "manly" toy.
Kenner couldn't wait to take a link off of the Christmas chain everyday all the way to the very last one.
Kenner prepared a plate of cookies for Santa Claus at Grandma Bartlett's house on Christmas Eve. He was pretty good about getting the frosting and sprinkles on the cookies, but I think he managed to get more of the candy in his mouth.
